Mr. Miller's One Word Project
What is it?
This year in English 10 our teacher, Mr. Miller, has a project for us called "One Word." The project is basically we choose one word that is important to us, then focus on it all year. Hoping that we will think of this world not constantly, but in situations where the word could provide motivation, we will naturally think of about it. For example, last year Mr. Miller's word was patience. Previously, he would react and say things, or maybe get mad too easily. Since he picked the word patience, whenever he was about to snap he would think of that word and readdress the situation.
My Word: Failure
My word is Failure. I chose this specific word because it is the one thing I truly fear in life. Being a failure, or not succeeding in life is what I think about every day. I never want to be that old man who tells his children or grandchildren "I wish I would have...". This is why I chose the word "Failure;" so every time I think about quitting, not working hard, or not giving my all I will be reminded of "Failure". When I recall that word it will push me to do my best and at least know that I tried.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
